Natalie may have a beautiful baby bump now-a-days, but in 2009, she was starving herself for her role in ‘Black Swan!’Natalie Portman simply glowed as she showed off her tiny baby belly at the People’s Choice Awards on Jan. 5. On Dec. 27, the 29-year-old actress confirmed that she is engaged to Benjamin Millepied, 33, and is expecting his baby. However, the actress admitted to starving herself while filming her dramatic flick Black Swan only a year ago!

“‘I was barely eating,” Natalie told the Daily Mail. “I was working 16 hours a day. I was almost method acting without intending to. I do wonder now how people can do this kind of role when they have a family.”
She confessed, “It was more difficult than anything I’ve ever experienced before. I like to go home and be myself but with this one I didn’t get the chance. It didn’t leave me.”
However, besides having to do some extreme dieting, Natalie did get to partake in a passion from childhood…ballet! Natalie danced from ages 4-12 and then started back up again at age 27.
“It was like starting from scratch,” Natalie said. “I had coordination and could feel the music pretty easily, but I had to relearn the physical movements.”
Wow! Sounds like Natalie went through a lot to make the incredible movie. Nevertheless, it was worth it because not only did she meet the love of her life on set, it’s rumored Black Swan may be up for some major Academy Awards in 2011!
