The rapper is behind bars in Maricopa County again, this time on suspicion of drug use that violates his probation from his 2009 conviction on animal-cruelty, drug and identify-theft charges.
He was sentenced to six months in jail in March for a previous violation, but served barely a quarter of the time, then completed 18 days of a 90-day sentence over the summer for violating probation on a 2002 DUI charge in Los Angeles.
"Mr. Simmons is here today to fully cooperate with respect to any matters of the Court's concern," attorney Aja Southern said in a statement when DMX turned himself in for the latter stretch. "This is one of many steps towards rebuilding his image and rapport with the community and his loyal fans."
Hours after his release in August, the Cradle 2 the Grave star was cited for a vehicle-code infraction and driving with an invalid license, but wasn't taken into custody.
And then DMX was arrested yesterday for allegedly using cocaine and Oxycontin, failing to show up for court-ordered drug tests and driving on a suspended license.
He is being held without bail and authorities are looking to have his probation revoked, according to court documents released Friday.
